Pamyua (pronounced bum-yo-ah), meaning “encore” in Inuit, blends tribal funk with Inuit soul in performances that celebrate and preserve Yup’ik traditions. Their unique sound fuses traditional drum dancing and songs with gospel, R&B, jazz, and funk—what Native Peoples Magazine calls “a blizzard of interlocking harmonies.” Beloved at home and abroad, Pamyua has toured globally in countries including Russia, China, Greenland, and Brazil. Their mesmerizing shows combine cultural authenticity with contemporary artistry, leaving audiences moved and inspired. With every performance, Pamyua revives tradition and invites the world to experience the joy and power of Inuit music.
